About McElwain's

McElwain Auctions Ltd was formed in 1991 and operates from a 6000 sq/ft building in London St, on the central business district fringe of Hamilton city.

With a full-time staff of five people, our regular fortnightly Auctions are immensely popular attracting crowds of around 400 buyers, who have had the previous week to inspect the goods on hand in the carpeted showroom.

We specialise in top quality domestic and office furniture, latest model whiteware, appliances, electronic equipment (DVD & video, TV, stereo and computers) at all times being immaculately presented.

Customs seized, Police stolen/recovered items are a crowd favourite and range from jewellery and mountain bikes to ride-on mowers and car trailers.

Vendors are offered a free pick-up and appraisal service within Hamilton and the surrounding area.

McElwains also undertake valuations for matrimonial, company restructuring/sale, and GST purposes.

All funds are held in a trust account prior to guaranteed payout within 14 days of sale, and McElwain's are members of The Auctioneers Association of New Zealand.
